Stephanie C. Horton, Writer and Rights Advocate

hortonStephanie C. Horton is the Managing Editor & Founder of Sea Breeze Journal, a peer-review medium devoted to   publishing art, creative non-fiction, short fiction narratives, cultural stories, poetry, interviews, book reviews, criticism, theory, and social and political commentary by Liberians 

Stephanie holds a Master of Fine Arts from Spalding University, Louisville, Kentucky, USA. She is a literary and technical writer, editor, consultant and film producer, and has worked in various aspects of publishing and as Professor of English Literature & Advanced Writing at the University of the District of Columbia, Washington, DC, USA, and Professor of Developmental Reading at Morgan State University, Baltimore, MD, USA.

She’s also worked as an instructor of the Paulo Freire model for various adult literacy programs; as a curriculum developer for English as a Second Language instruction for non-literate and literate traumatized refugee populations; in theater at the world-renowned Actors Theater of Louisville; and as a girls, women’s, men’s and gay, lesbian and transgender advocate, counselor, workshop facilitator and staff trainer for survivors of sexual assault and violence.
